Acorn Farm opened its doors in downtown Millford in 2008. Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting the most kind, interesting, generous, and downright fun people in the store every single day. Our staff is made up of former customers who became a part of our family so much that we just had to hire them! At Acorn Farm our goal is to not only provide you with high quality goods for your kitchen and home, but to stir up your imagination in the kitchen and around the home. We aim to make every trip to Acorn Farm a pleasant one, and that you’ll always leave encouraged, inspired, and ready to try something new.

WOODLANDS & WILDFLOWERS - A Celebration of Springtime
$75.00

Spring has been gently spurring an awakening. Birds are noisily nesting, violets are poised to blossom, and the ferns are poking through the soil with their furled fiddleheads.  There’s no time quite like spring and we’d like you to celebrate it with us.

You’ll be welcomed with a flower-adorned flute of prosecco with an amuse bouche from Chef Steven that will capture the bounty of spring in a bite.

Chef Steven has created a menu for the evening that captures the freshness of spring yet embraces the warmth & comfort we all need as Michigan says its annual au revoir to chilly days. He’ll prepare a salad of watercress, tender herbs, and the first fruits of the season, garnished with blossoms & poppy seeds. You'll enjoy pan-roasted breast of spring chicken with a wild honey mustard glaze, ballotine thigh with pistachio and prosciutto, all accompanied by a sauteed mushroom medley with colorful organic grains. Chef Steven will be preparing your meal but will share the floor with our special guest, Erin Hamilton from the Mushroom Conservatory, a most fascinating grower and lover of exquisitely beautiful and delicious mushrooms. She’ll teach you all you need to know about some of these incredible fungi, and the wide variety of flavors & textures you can experience with them. She’ll tell you a bit about her mission to help all of us learn to grow our own mushrooms right at home! She’ll also have some of her kits here that night for purchase. One of Chef Steven’s dishes will showcase these botanical beauties—some that you’ve probably never had the pleasure of tasting before—but sure to please every palate. You’ll enjoy an herbed grapefruit spritz, pretty as a picture, light and citrussy!

Pastry Chef Tanya Fallon will be here to help you create a piece of edible art that you’ll bake at home---a gorgeous round focaccia that will look like a wildflower garden when you’re finished with it. Tanya will have the dough prepared and will guide you through the process.

We’re excited to have her here as she is an incredible pastry chef, creating fabulous flavors in a stunning presentation. For Woodlands & Wildflowers, she'll delight us with a trio of exquisite desserts, to awaken every tastebud, and please the eye!

You’ll leave with a momento from the evening, as well as some new recipes and the focaccia you’ve created. You’ll be ready to enjoy spring and its promise of new beginnings.
