We’re doing something a little different this year for our knife-sharpening event. It will be free, as usual, but we’re asking you to sharpen your giving skills while we take care of your knives.
There’s a young local family that is really hurting right now. We can help!
Our kids grew up with TJ, ---attended school and church with him. Like many young couples, TJ and Kati have a houseful of kids---three little girls, including 1-year old twins. Unlike most couples, TJ has been battling stage 4 brain cancer, which has rendered him unable to work or take care of the children while Kati is working. As you can imagine, the medical bills are staggering, on top of what they need to pay normal household bills like groceries, utilities, insurance, and more.
They’re both private people and it’s not in their nature to ask for help, but they definitely need our help at this time. We’re hoping that as a community, we can figuratively wrap our arms around them and bless them with some monetary assistance. A donation jar will be set up all day in the store. Every little bit counts!
We’ll be doing the sharpening between 4 and 7 pm. You can drop off your knives any time that day, if the sharpening hours don’t work for you. Please bring your knives wrapped securely (a towel works well) with name and phone number inside—no serrated knives, please.
